The biggest drama seems to be in Sweden. Wildfires are far from extinct, but they do not spread anymore.
Fire and Rescue Services (MSB) say that the situation is clearer and that much of the foreign aid is being sent home. However, there are still surveillance planes in the air, and extinctions and fire extinguishing are carried out in many places.
MSB, Mikael Tofvesson, Deputy General Manager, says that the fire of Älvdalen is under control after two weeks of rupture.
Water bombardments, landslides, fires and a helping hand from neighbors and EU countries have yielded results.
In Hälsingland, local rescue authorities say that the night has been good, and that there is no spread. Now the crews are entering the fire zone to extinguish after all the attention of the past few days has been directed towards the limitation of the flames.
– This does not mean that the fire is off. Far from there. We will continue for a long time, it is certain in a few weeks. But the fire will not spread further, says Patrik Åhnberg in Hälsingland
