The District Operations Committee, Dagsverk i Salten, has sent questions to MIFF, which will replicate them in their project-oriented ODIN. All the glory for young people who show an interest in understanding a discussion partner!

The questions posed to OD students in Salten are in italics.

Operation of the year Dagsverk has been a controversial subject. Especially MIFF has been at the forefront. What's so sensational about the OD this year? Why do you encourage OD boycott?

It is sensational to see the NDP addressing organizations fighting for political demands that will eliminate the world's only Jewish state and replace it with the Arab State No. 23 and the United States. Muslim state number 57. The Palestinian recipient organizations will boycott Israel until this requirement is met. In addition, the dissemination of information by the NDP to Norwegian students is extremely one-sided, which can create an understanding for the Israelis gone. It is legitimate to ask whether Operations Dagsverk violates the foundation of value in the law on education, writes lecturer Anita Sævik, the chair of professor of religion and ethics in the law on Norwegian lecturers.

Does the FIFM recognize Palestine as its own state? Why / why not?

With Israel for Peace (MIFF), as an organization, does not take a stand for or against a Palestinian state. We have room for members with different points of view in this case, because there are also very different points of view in Israel. A Palestinian state can only be recognized after a negotiated solution, all the rest would be to undermine international law and the Oslo accords. Unfortunately, the Palestinian authorities have refused to negotiate with Israel in recent years.

What is the worst thing about OD money and what are your beliefs that will be the consequence of this year's project?

In the Palestinian community, the NDP will send out dangerous signals: boycott organizations are being rewarded with millions of dollars of Norwegian schoolchildren. Instead, the money could be donated to organizations working for trade and coexistence. Palestinian youth will be taught that the "right of return" is a "sacred right". This attitude is the biggest barrier of peace for 70 years.

In Norway, NDD has been used and will be used to spread coarse unilateralism, factual errors and diabolical propaganda in Norwegian schools. Operation Dagsverk also uses girls who shelter terrorist leaders and want to send Israel back.

What would the money for the project have been affected if the project was still to take place in Palestine?

Trauma treatment, gender equality education and democracy are, on the whole, very good. The OD should have been much more concrete about what this means in practice. Instead, the NDP used most of its project, film, and other discussions. to take an oath to Israel. The NDP should have chosen for this work partners who do not have a hostile political agenda against the Palestinians' neighbors.

If MIFF had asked for this year's OD, what would be the money for the basic principles of the NDP: solidarity, economic security, volunteering and youth, education and development?

There are countless large humanitarian aid organizations in Israel, many of which provide assistance to Palestinians involved in building bridges. There is an urgent need for trauma treatment in Israel after the Gaza attacks of terrorist attacks and terrorist attacks.

What does MIFF think of the wall? What do you think it is condemned by the International Court in The Hague?

The Hague Court has not condemned the creation of a barrier. What they criticized, is that it does not follow the green lines. There is a big difference.

More than 90% of what you call a wall is a fence. The barrier does not look nice and you wish it was not necessary – but the vast majority of Jews in Israel are grateful to him. The construction of the barrier has significantly reduced the number of deadly terrorist attacks. The Hague Court has not sufficiently taken into account the terrorist threat emanating from the Palestinian side. For the sake of the Palestinians, the trail has been changed several times and in recent years, development has almost completely stopped.

What do you think that Israel controls the Palestinian territories and checkpoints?

Israel conquered the West Bank of the State of Jordan during a war war in 1967. As long as the Palestinian Authority did not agree on an agreement defining sustainable borders and creating genuine peace, Israel has the full right to maintain control of the region. Checkpoints are unfortunately necessary because some Palestinians use their freedom of movement to carry out terrorist attacks.

If Israel had not maintained effective security control, the suffering on both the Israeli side and the Palestinian side would be much greater. Only in 2017, Israeli security forces put an end to 400 terrorist attacks, including 13 suicide bombings and 8 kidnappings. In the first half of 2018, 250 significant terrorist attacks were prevented.

What does MIFF think of the occupation?

As mentioned above, international law recognizes Israel's right to remain as an occupier until the occupier agrees to a reasonable peace agreement. In addition to international conventions, this follows from UN Resolution 242.

The Palestinian war against Israel began long before the occupation in 1967. Israel's occupation of southern Lebanon and Gaza has ceased. Was there more security and less terror? No. On the contrary. The result of the withdrawal from southern Lebanon became "The Second Lebanon War" when the Hezbollah terrorist group, backed by Iran, attacked Israel in the summer of 2006. The results of the withdrawal from Gaza in 2005 became a rakette rain of the Gaza Strip against Israeli civilians in southern Israel. Three times in the following years, the Hamas regime and Israel engaged in war or larger armed conflicts. They took place in December 2008, November 2012 and July 2014.

Ending the occupation of the West Bank without an agreement giving Israel security guarantees is the recipe for further war and terror, fearing the right side of Israel. On the left, some think that Israel is strong enough to withdraw without unmanageable threat. This is a major topic of discussion also in Israel. For example, you can read more in the article The great dilemma of Israel regarding lands under military control. Imagine if the OD could provide such advanced information to Norwegian schoolchildren!

What does an ideal sharing plan look like for you and for Israel?

MIFF does not have its own point of view here, but in the article A good solution for all, you see the maps of the proposal presented by Israel in 2008. On June 14, 2009, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (Likud) supported the establishment of a Palestinian state if Israel became international. guarantees that it will remain demilitarized. When a large majority of Jews in Israel in principle support the idea of a Palestinian state, it is because they think the options are worse.

How do you want to work for peace?

The purpose of MIFF is to provide "accurate and complete information about Israel, the Jewish people and the Middle East" with the desire "to create greater and deeper sympathy for Israel and the Jewish people". MIFF only works in Norway, not in the Middle East.

Israelis want to be accepted to make peace with their neighbors in the Middle East. The best way to solve this problem is to negotiate directly between the parties. We hope that our information work in Norway can be a contribution to a peace in which Jews live in safety and where Palestinians and other Arabs benefit from peaceful cooperation with Israel. We also found that our informational work contributed to the de-radicalization, including this Norwegian Muslim, of the fact that MIFF has allowed to express its dreams of genocide and to ensure that Israel contributes to the progress of the world. 'humanity.

Do you think this year's NDP will prevent peace work? How do you think the OD project this year is against its purpose?

This year's NDP recipients are working for a "peace" where there is no longer a Jewish state. It is something that we absolutely can not accept. "All forms of discrimination must be combated," states Article 1-1 of the Education Act. This year's NP organizations support and promote discrimination. They are in favor of Israel's "vast economic boycott", but to no other country.

Do you see a peaceful future that benefits both Israel and Palestine?

If Palestinian leaders begin to prepare their people for peace alongside Israel, as a Jewish state, there may be hope. The right of return of the Palestinian Authority, as well as its reward and the heroism of terrorists, unfortunately make peace impossible in the short term. That the day-to-day operation, the money managers, be an important obstacle to peace. Billions of dollars, euros and dollars are invested in the "two-state solution", but a vast majority of Palestinians are simply not interested.

Do you want to add something?
