The Mexican drug dealer Joaquin & El Chapo & # 39; Guzman is accused of smuggling more than 155 tons of cocaine into the United States. Monday began the lawsuit against him in New York.

The prosecutor spent several years gathering evidence and formulating the detailed allegation which, he hopes, will raise the 61-year-old to 61 years in a US high-security prison. According to the prosecution, Guzman led the Sinaloa cartel from 1989 to 2014. The cartel has thousands of members.

Anonymous jury members
Twelve members of the jury and six alternates will be elected. They will remain anonymous and will be partially isolated during the trial. Every day they get police cards in court.
Of the 100 potential jury members, about 40 were removed from the referee at Monday 's hearing.
Opening positions should be presented on November 13th.
Guzman is convicted and his defendants believe that they have not had time to consider the evidence, over 300,000 pages written and 117,000 sound recordings.
