ESCANABA – Norway’s senior Kali Stanchina extended her unbeaten streak in the No.1 to six singles as Norway contested a shortened non-conference women’s tennis match, falling to host Escanaba 3-1 here on Thursday after- midday.
“We played well against Escanaba, because the girls keep improving”, said Cassandra Gustafson, Norwegian women’s tennis coach. “We have two sick daughters right now, but I hope we find them soon and the rest of the team stays healthy. Kali Stanchina continues to dominate.
Norway will return to action on Wednesday when they host non-conference enemy Gwinn, before hosting West Iron on September 20, also a non-conference game, both at Marion Park.
