Bruchalski began his career in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1987, practicing the full range of reproductive medicine, including sterilizations, artificial reproduction, destruction of embryos and late abortions. Bruchalski experienced a profound conversion following a live birth during a late abortion procedure and then decided to practice exclusively pro-life medicine that supported women, children and their families.
In 1994, Bruchalski and his wife, Carolyn, established the Tepeyac Family Center (now Tepeyac OB / GYN), providing direct care to patients regardless of their ability to pay, including fertility counseling, family planning support and support for families who have experienced an adverse reaction. prenatal diagnosis for their child.
In 2000, Bruchalski created Divine Mercy Care, a nonprofit umbrella organization to support uninsured Tepeyac OB / GYN patients, to educate and train the next generation of pro-life physicians, and to unify the pro-life movement. Divine Mercy Care provides over $ 600,000 per year to purchase pro-life care for women and families through Tepeyac OB / GYN.
The Notre Dame Evangelium Vitae Medal, named after Pope John Paul II’s 1995 Encyclical on Life Matters, is the country’s most significant award for the lifetime achievement of heroes of the pro-life movement. , honoring those whose efforts have served to proclaim the gospel of life by affirming and defending the sanctity of human life from its earliest stages.
