JANESVILLE, Wisconsin, Jan.25, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – A Rock County-run nursing home receives significant setback after forcing its employees to receive the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine regimen or be laid off.
Rock Haven officials issued a memo on Dec. 23 advising workers that receiving the vaccine was “a requirement for all staff” and that those who did not comply would be fired for not “performing essential job functions” .
The memo went on to explain that a laid-off employee “will not be allowed to return to work until they complete the COVID-19 series of vaccines.”
The initial session scheduled by the nursing home to perform the first of a two-dose regimen was Jan.5. After refusing to show up for the injection, RN Terra Anderson was fired from her job.
In no time, she received a letter dated Jan.6 informing her that she had been laid off for her “inability to perform essential duties of your job; failure to complete the Covid-19 vaccine. as expected.”
A local Channel3000 report indicated that “nearly a dozen” employees were forced to quit their jobs as a result of this policy.
Speaking on condition of anonymity to The Gazette over fears of retaliation, an employee said that although he or she should receive the first dose of the Moderna diet in February, they would like to decline it. The employee also explained that 27 other workers at the nursing home this month had sent letters from the County Health Services Committee explaining their objections to the vaccination warrant.

The concerns included how this hastily developed and tested biological agent can have dangerous and unknown long-term effects.
Others have expressed concerns that it will affect their pregnancy or fertility.
Michelle Lynch, a secretary at Rock Haven, reported that staff “have side effects” from the first injection, “and they are told, ‘Too bad’,” she said.
Letters to Rock County supervisors revealed that two employees said they suffered “high fevers and other side effects after receiving the vaccine on Jan. 5”. In one case, “the side effects were so severe,” the employee “had to go to the doctor and was advised not to receive the second injection of the vaccine.”
According to reports, officials at Walgreens and CVS, the two main drugstore chains that carry out vaccinations, long-term care workers have been “much more reluctant than residents to be vaccinated.”
According to estimates from the American Health Care Association (AHCA), about 50% of long-term care staff refuse injections.
“We have a real challenge with the staff,” said Mark Parkinson, President and CEO of AHCA. “There is a lot of misinformation out there. There are rampant rumors spreading on social media that the vaccine can cause fertility issues, which has worried many young women who work at our facilities.”
In contrast to the characterization of Parkinson’s disease, the UK government released a 10-page report late last year which warned that these biologics should not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women. Regarding their impact on fertility, the report simply states that it is “unknown whether the COVID-19 mRNA vaccine BNT162b2 has any impact on fertility.”
Therefore, according to the UK government, forcing young women to receive these injections forces them to play with their fertility to keep their jobs.
Safety concerns with these biologics also include “allergic” and “life-threatening” reactions, whereby they may in fact lead to increased vulnerability to the virus and, in fact, concerns about the long-term effects remain legitimate. because these chemicals are not tested properly.
In addition, the United States Food and Drug Administration also drafted a document this fall listing the possible side effects of a COVID-19 vaccine, including stroke, encephalitis, autoimmune diseases, birth defects, Kawasaki disease and death.
Current reports reveal that hundreds of people injected with these chemicals have been admitted to hospital, and the shots have so far been linked to at least 55 deaths in the United States.
As for the elderly, a report from a nursing home in Auburn, New York, claims they had no coronavirus deaths at the facility for up to seven days after starting the vaccine . In less than two weeks, as of December 29, the “24 residents infected with coronavirus at the 300-bed retirement home” had died.
Earlier this month, the Norwegian Medicines Agency reported that 23 people had died within days of receiving the first dose of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, of which 13 were nursing home patients.
As a result, health experts from China have called on Norway and other countries to suspend the use of mRNA vaccines, as currently produced by Moderna and Pfizer, especially in the elderly.
In response to an outcry from Rock Haven employees, several county board members have indicated that they plan to challenge the policy at their board meeting on January 28.
“I think we’ll need to take this very carefully at the next county board meeting,” said supervisor Brian Knudson, who also chairs the Rock County Human Services Board. “I don’t think it’s fair to make layoffs. It is not fair.”
County President Rich Bostwick said if the rule was challenged a new rule could be passed in its place with a simple majority agreement from county supervisors.
In anticipation of this moral question, Dr Joseph Meaney, president of the National Catholic Bioethics Center, claimed in July that informed consent is not even possible for newer biological agents because long-term effects remain unknown due to the lack of prolonged testing. Thus, any use of coercion on people to take such a vaccine, including the imposition of employment, remains “ethically unacceptable”.
