After escaping almost all of the low-season training activities organized by the Browns, Odell Beckham is sure to show up in Cleveland this week for mandatory team practices.
The star receiver of the Browns was not only present at the team's minicamp launch Tuesday, but he also spoke to the media this week for the first time since its introduction. April 1st press conference.
During an interview Wednesday, Beckham spent nearly 20 minutes answering questions, mainly about how he spent his off-season. Instead of spending the last two months in Cleveland, Beckham decided to train in Los Angeles, which meant he missed nine of the Browns' ten OTAs.
Beckham did not have to explain why he had skipped the volunteer sessions of the team, but he still did it.
"I know my body better than anyone," said Beckham, via the team's official Twitter account. "I know what it takes for me to be in excellent physical, mental, all those things.It's not my first rodeo.It's not my first ride.I just know what it takes to get there. "
According to Beckham, Browns coach Freddie Kitchens was well aware that he would not show up at most volunteer events.
"The coach and I had a different plan than everyone else knows," Beckham said. "We talked and communicated throughout the off-season, so he knew where I was and when I would be here, when I would get there and when I would not be, everyone knew in some way the plan of match my time and then return to normal speed. "
If there is a disadvantage to jumping OTAs, especially for a player joining a new team, it is that you can fall behind when learning the game book, but fortunately for the Browns, Beckham has stated that it would not be a problem for him.

Beckham and Mayfield will have another training together this week when the Browns will hold their last minicamp session on Thursday.
