BOSTON (WGGB / WSHM) – A person in Massachusetts has been diagnosed with measles.
At present, the state's public health department warns about a potential exposure if you go to several places in the state.
Mass. DPH stated that this person had been diagnosed on Sunday.
Although this person has not traveled to western Massachusetts, she wants people to be aware of their potential exposure.
"The measles virus is currently causing major national and international measles outbreaks, and the lack of vaccination combined with national and international travel has led to the spread of the disease. Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself from this disease, "said Dr. Catherine Brown, state epidemiologist in a statement.
