COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio has surpassed 400,000 total COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began after the state released figures on Saturday. Saturday’s data is incomplete as the unprecedented volume of results has caused thousands of reports to remain under investigation.
The Ohio Department of Health today reported 6,895 new cases of COVID-19 in the state, bringing the total number of cases to 406,703.
The number of new cases today is lower than the 21-day moving average of daily cases, which is 7,666. These figures include both cases confirmed by a viral test and cases that meet the definition of probable of the CDC. To date, 384,544 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed, representing 95% of the total cases.
Today, 522 new cases have been reported in Cuyahoga County.
There have now been 6,378 coronavirus-related deaths statewide; 32 new deaths were reported today, down from the 21-day average of 42.
The ODH reported 302 new hospitalizations today, with 37 ICU admissions, both above their 21-day averages of 279 and 29, respectively.
To date, 261,353 Ohio residents are believed to be cured of the disease, according to the ODH.
There were 46,024 tests performed on November 26, the last day this ODH data was available. Of these tests, 15.5% were positive, compared to the 7-day rolling average positivity rate of 14%. Click here to find out where to get a COVID-19 test in your area.

The median age of patients is 42 years, with the age range of infected patients ranging from less than 1 year to 109 years.
