Two of college football’s most historic programs rekindle their rivalry on Saturday in Week 3 as the Oklahoma No.3 hosts Nebraska in a non-conference showdown. The duo haven’t met since the 2010 Big 12 Championship game, when the Sooners came back 17 points to hand the Cornhuskers a final loss as they left the Big 12 for the Big Ten.
OU is one of the early favorites to compete for a national championship after starting the season in the top two. Heisman Trophy quarterback Spencer Rattler threw up a pair of interceptions but looks to solidify his game as Oklahoma play their first Power Five game of the season. Nebraska is having another tough start in Coach Scott Frost’s fourth season. The Cornhuskers lost to an average Illinois team, but rebounded with dominant wins over Fordham and Buffalo. QB Adrian Martinez started to find his rhythm with 728 yards in the air, 256 yards rushing and seven total touchdowns without interception.
