“Silence is not an option” in the September 11, 2021 issue of The Alpena News shows once again that labels are making a difference. History reports that abortion was originally a male solution to unwanted pregnancies. He released him from all responsibility for his actions. Women were originally reluctant to destroy human life. But forward to the present, abortion has been repackaged as a “woman’s right” to make it more acceptable to women. It was lumped together with other things like equal employment and equal pay. Little attention has been paid to the emotional effects of abortion on many women.
At a time when there are many effective ways to prevent pregnancy, the need for abortion should be very limited. It should only be performed when the woman’s life is in danger or the fetus is not viable. It should never be a birth control measure!
The writer quotes that she is a proponent of “all women’s issues”. So label it as a problem for women and she will support it. Critical thinking seems to have died out in recent years.
Life is precious. Many people unable to have children would be happy to have an unwanted baby by the mother. Why not bring the child to term and leave the joy of parenting to someone else? Support your community by supporting all life.
