OnePlus seems to be having a little trouble sending bug-free updates lately – the stable version of Android 11 for the OnePlus 7T series, for example, has caused camera failures for several users. However, these are not the only OP phones that are troubleshooting issues and the company is now offering OxygenOS 11.0.5.5 to fix bugs experienced by OnePlus 8 series users.

There are a lot of fixes to be addressed, including those that caused extended screenshot to not work and the alarm clock not ringing as expected on work days – a bummer if you ask me. In addition to introducing a host of fixes, OnePlus has also optimized the position of the emergency icon on the lock screen and improved the sensitivity of navigation gestures while charging.

The new version is included in the March security update, which OnePlus skimped on in its Android 11 update for the OnePlus 7 series.

This is a phased deployment, so it may take some time for it to reach your device. If you don’t like to wait, we recommend checking out the Oxygen Updater tool which will help you download the latest OTA. You can also check for the update by going to Settings> System update.
