Disneyland named CO vaccination site
Disneyland has been named to the large Orange County vaccination site.
ANAHEIM from California – Orange County will begin using Disneyland as a new “super site” for coronavirus vaccinations this week, and other large-scale sites in the county are expected to be used in the same way soon.
“The Disneyland Resort, the largest employer in the heart of Orange County, has stepped up to host the county’s first Super POD site – undertaking a monumental task in our vaccine distribution process,” said the Acting President Andrew Do, First District, in a Liberation press. “We really appreciate the support from the Orange County Fire Authority, our cities and our residents as we continue to roll out COVID-19 vaccinations throughout the county.”
Disneyland Resort is one of five regional “Super POD” sites that will be able to immunize thousands of residents every day.
“I am proud that Disneyland Resorts and the City of Anaheim, both located in my fourth district, are the first Super PODs in Orange County,” Supervisor Doug Chaffee said in a press release. “Residents of my district have been severely affected by COVID-19. These Super PODs are absolutely essential in stopping this deadly virus.
CORONAVIRUS IN CALIFORNIA
As of Monday, distribution sites in California are making the vaccines available to residents who meet the “Phase 1a” criteria. The criteria for phase 1a include law enforcement and first responders in high-risk communities and those aged 75 and older, according to Orange County.
The Disneyland Resort distribution site is expected to open later this week, according to the county.

The county said in a press release that “most people eligible for Phase 1a vaccine will be contacted through their employer to make an appointment through a third-party app.”
