Beavers score winning touchdown with 33 seconds left
The score of the box CORVALLIS – Chance Nolan scored the winning touchdown with 33 seconds left to bring Oregon State to a 41-38 rivalry victory over Oregon on Friday night at Reser Stadium in Corvallis.
Nolan’s fourth run capped a 55-yard drive that started with less than two minutes to go, as the Beavers landed the final punch in a home and away game. Oregon State didn’t take its first lead until the fourth quarter, and neither team has led by more than 12 at any time.
Jermar Jefferson rushed for 226 yards, a record for the Oregon State-Oregon rivalry game, and the 11e-More yards by a beaver in reverse in any game. Jefferson also scored two touchdowns in the contest, including an 82-yard rush in the first quarter.
Tristan Gebbia threw 263 yards into the game and represented one touchdown and another in the air. Kolby taylor finished with seven receptions for 114 yards, including a pair of important catches on the Beavers’ last drive. Trevon Bradford had eight receptions for 93 yards.
Avery roberts came up with 12 tackles in the contest, while Andrzej Hughes-Murray notch 3.5 tackles for loss. Jaydon grant came up with a major interception on an Oregon drive in the second quarter.
The teams traded punches early in the game, as big rushes from Jefferson, including his 82-yard touchdown, put the Beavers in a 14-10 score less than two minutes into the second quarter. .
Oregon took a 24-13 halftime lead.
The Beavers came back in a single scoreline six minutes into the third quarter, as Gebbia hit Zeriah Beason for an eight-yard touchdown.
Oregon State scored back-to-back touchdowns early in the fourth quarter to take their first lead of the game, before Oregon responded 38-34 with less than nine minutes to go. The Beavers converted on their third straight quarterback attempt for the winning score.
