All 32 characters will return to battle in the next Monitoring Championship season, according to Monitoring 2 game director Aaron Keller — and fans might even see some new faces when the next season of the competition begins.

During today Monitoring Broadcasting the League Grand Final, Keller revealed the 32 heroes of Monitoring will return in the 2022 season of OWL, which will take place in an early release of Monitoring 2. He also hinted at the possibility of “some other” new faces.

“Our plan is that we will have all of these heroes, all of these 32 heroes, playable for the next season of Monitoring League, ”Keller said. “And who knows, there might even be more.”

While we have no information on who these heroes are, the upcoming OWL season running on a first version of Monitoring 2 offers the chance to catch a glimpse of some of the new characters when the competition kicks off in April, as Keller has hinted at.

In addition to Keller’s advice, the OWL Halftime Grand Final exhibition match featured several returning heroes and led fans through the new Push map, Rome. It was also our first look at professional gameplay involving the Sombra and Bastion redesigns, announced earlier in the series. Keller noted that more revamps for existing heroes are on the horizon, although he didn’t give more details.

Sojourn, unveiled in full at BlizzConline 2019, is one of the new heroes of Monitoring 2, but it’s still unclear if she’ll be available in the next season of the Monitoring League. The Canadian hero will join the roster alongside a new Push map set in the snowy city of Toronto when Monitoring 2 outings, and she’ll bolster the ranks of damage-focused heroes armed with her railgun, the first of its kind in the franchise.

Although fans can get a taste of Monitoring 2 When OWL’s next season premieres in April, the sequel does not yet have a release date set.
