Paramedic Paramedic 23 years old partially paralyzed after fracturing his neck and causing stroke

LONDON – A 23-year-old paramedic was partially paralyzed after fracturing his neck and causing a stroke, the Daily Mail reported.

Natalie Kunicki was in bed watching a movie with a friend on March 4th when she stretched her neck and heard a crack.

At first, she did not think about it, but when she got up 15 minutes later to go to the bathroom, she fell to the floor.

Her friend had to take her to the floor and Kunicki said she thought she was drugged.

After rejecting this, she finally called 999 (British version of 911), which made her colleagues fear to come and find her in good health.

She was rushed to the hospital and later learned that, while stretching her neck, she had burst a vertebral artery, which had caused the formation of a blood clot in his brain. The blood clot triggered a stroke.

The doctors operated but did not manage to clear the clot. The left side of Kunicki was almost completely paralyzed.

Exercising on a daily basis helped her find some mobility, but she said that she was still "very clumsy" and that she could only walk for about five minutes.

She said she hoped to be back to work in six to 12 months.

"People need to know that even if you're young, something so simple can cause a stroke," she said.
