Pasadena issues limited stay-at-home order imposing curfew amid COVID-19 outbreak

PASADENA, Calif. (KABC) – The city of Pasadena has issued a limited stay-at-home order as California continues to face an increase in coronavirus cases and hospitalizations.

Under the order, residents are required to stay in their homes between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., unless they are participating in essential activities.

Restaurants are also required to close outdoor restaurants by 10 p.m. to allow customers to track the order.

“Parties in private residences and other social activities after working hours spread the virus and should not be held in order to avoid further restrictions,” a statement from the city said.

The order is effective after 11:59 p.m. Wednesday and will last until 11:59 p.m. on December 20.

“Pasadena is not the perfect place for social gatherings, whether it’s at a friend’s or relative’s house, a fellowship picnic or a group meal in an outdoor restaurant – no gatherings are allowed”, also indicates the statement of the city.

The new order comes as Pasadena, which has been less restrictive than Los Angeles County, announced new limits on activities after inspectors found multiple violations of COVID-19 health protocols.

On Tuesday evening, the city announced new limits, including a ban on public and private gatherings with people outside your household, limiting non-essential retail and personal care services to 25% occupancy.

Al fresco dining in restaurants is still permitted, but you may only be seated with other people in your household.
