HUDSON, FL (FOX 13) – An employee of an adult entertainment club Hudson has had a positive test result for hepatitis A and Florida Department of Health officials in Pasco County are encouraging anyone traveling on the scene to get vaccinated because of a possible exposure.
Health officials said that a person working in the restaurant business at the ICON Gentlemen's Club – located at 18728, Highway 19 of the United States – had been tested positive for the disease. Anyone who has eaten or drunk between April 24 and May 1 is invited to be vaccinated. They said it was possible that those who dined at the gentlemen's club from April 15 to 23 were also exposed.
Officials from the Ministry of Health said the vaccine could protect people from the disease if it was administered within two weeks of exposure. Symptoms of hepatitis A include jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes), fever, diarrhea, fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, stomach pain, dark urine or pale or clayy stools. Anyone with these symptoms should consult a doctor.
Health officials said those who had previously received the vaccine against hepatitis A did not need to take any further action.

41 cases of hepatitis A were confirmed between 2018 and May 1, 2019 and 165 cases in Hillsborough. Pasco reported 267 cases and Pinellas County, 319.
"Many people with hepatitis have no symptoms and are unaware that they are infected.If the symptoms appear during an acute infection, they may appear from 2 weeks to 6 months after the infection. The symptoms of chronic viral hepatitis can develop in a few decades, "according to the CDC website.
