Security Devin McCourty, who has promised to retire if the Patriots win the Super Bowl LIII, will be back for a 10th season in New England.

"Yes, I will play," McCourty told Sports Spectrum's podcast in an interview published Thursday.

"It was the media night when Deion [Sanders] I said that, and it's like, yeah dude, if we win a Super Bowl, I do not know what else can be done. & # 39; And I think that at that time, I have a little forgotten, I do not play this game only to win Super Bowls. There is so much more that comes from me playing the game that I love. And I think once you have a chance to withdraw a few weeks, now you say to yourself, "Yeah man, I still want to be with those other young guys coming in …" "

McCourty, 31, is a captain of the Patriots eight times. He has played in 139 career regular season games, all starting in over 22 playoff games.

He won three Super Bowl titles, but the one against the Rams was probably his most special. his twin brother, Jason McCourty joined him after signing with the Patriots in the final off season.

Devin remains a year away for the 2019 season. Jason is expected to become a free agent next month.
