Patriots vs. Texans injury report Thursday: Four starting O linemen still missing for New England

Isaiah Wynn and Mike Onwenu remain on the Covid-19 reserve list, but the New England Patriots continued to train without two more starting offensive linemen on Thursday.

Trent Brown and Shaq Mason were again listed as non-participants due to calf and abdominal injuries, respectively, leading up to the Houston Texans game. The right tackle last played in initial practice for New England’s first game of the season, while the right guard played all 265 snaps from September through October.

Here’s the updated prediction for Sunday’s kickoff at 1 p.m. ET at NRG Stadium.

DID NOT PARTICIPATE

Patriots

  • OT Trent Brown (calf)
  • G Shaq Mason (abdomen)
  • CB Shaun Wade (concussion)

Texans

  • QB Deshaun Watson (unrelated to injury)
  • WR Chris Conley (unrelated to injury)
  • RB Rex Burkhead (hip)
  • OT Marcus Cannon (back)

Along with Wynn, Onwenu, Brown and Mason, the Patriots also added Wade to the injury report on Thursday after the rookie cornerback suffered a concussion. On the Texans’ side, the former Patriots of Burkhead and Cannon have yet to practice this week. The running back has a hip problem and the tackle has a back problem.

LIMITED PARTICIPATION

Patriots

  • LB Ronnie Perkins (ankle)
  • LB Ja’Whaun Bentley (shoulder)
  • LB Kyle Van Noy (groin)
  • S Kyle Dugger (hamstrings)
  • S Cody Davis (knee)
  • K Nick Folk (left knee)
  • CB Jonathan Jones (ankle)
  • CB Jalen Mills (hamstrings)

Texans

  • WR Danny Amendola (thigh)
  • C Justin Britt (knee)

Van Noy went from marginal to limited while managing a groin injury that recently kept the veteran linebacker questionable. The other seven limited participants from New England on Thursday had also trained in that capacity on Wednesday. All except Perkins and Bentley were active last Sunday. The latter injured his shoulder in Week 3 and was listed as questionable in Week 4. Bentley recorded 137 shots in his first three starts of the campaign, registering 20 tackles, including one pair for loss. And for Houston, Amendola completed a second partial workout while dealing with a thigh injury. The 35-year-old slot catcher touched a touchdown on his Texans debut.

FULL PARTICIPATION

Patriots

Texans

  • RB Scottie Phillips (illness)
  • CB Jimmy Moreland (illness)

No member of New England’s active roster reached full participation on Thursday. Phillips in the attacking backfield and Moreland in the defensive backfield remained full for the Texans while recovering from illnesses.
