He was born in Albany, NY on December 26, 1942, and since he was a young man he was still working. Over the years he has led Charter Coach in all parts of our country. Paul was a tractor-trailer owner / operator and also drove for other businesses. He was a police officer in Johnstown, NY and was subsequently promoted to sergeant. After his retirement he worked for various banks as an Asset Recovery Person. He later became a part-time school bus driver.

Paul was a very strong man with a big heart. In 1974 he met and later married the love of his life, Linda, with whom he shared a wonderful and exciting life. He was a member of the Johnstown Reformed Church and an active member of the Johnstown Eagles Club, where he had many friends.

He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Jennifer Lynn Vosteen Finegan, who died 20 years ago, leaving a terrible void and a great hole in his heart forever. Paul leaves behind his beloved wife, Linda; his stepson Jeffrey Auspelmyer and his partner Stacy; her daughter-in-law Kimberly Kirk and son-in-law Steven Kirk; the grandsons of Christopher Auspelmyer from Germany; Tyler, Troy and Thomas Kirk; two precious granddaughters, Holly Thomas and Morgan D. Finegan. Paul has other family members who moved a long time ago.

Paul’s family would like to thank all of the doctors and wonderful nurses in the Intensive Care Unit at Nathan Littauer Hospital for all of their compassionate care.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Saturday October 2, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a funeral service immediately following at the Ehle and Barnett Family Funeral Home, located at 15 N. William St., Johnstown, New York. A burial will immediately follow at the family land at Ferndale Cemetery in Johnstown, where he will rest next to his daughter Jennifer. In lieu of flowers, we ask those who wish to honor Paul on his death to do so by making a donation to Ronald McDonald House.
