Documents written by the courts suggest that Paul Manafort had confided to Konstantin Kilimnik – whose special adviser, Robert Mueller, would have been a Russian spy – 75 pages of recent polls. The data was referenced in an email with Manafort partner Rick Gates and emails sent by Kilimnik. According to journalist Marcy Wheeler's emptywheel blog, Manafort's lawyers qualify the survey data as "Exhibit 233", which dates "before the Republican Convention and the start of general elections".
