Paulina Porizkova announced that she and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin have ended their relationship.
The 56-year-old model took to Instagram on Tuesday where she shared a photo of herself and Sorkin walking together and smiling. However, she did include a heartbroken emoji on the snap. In a long caption accompanying the image, Porizkov explained that the duo officially broke up.
“I am so grateful for his presence in my life. He has helped me heal and win back myself. There is perhaps no better man, no man who is more genuinely ‘good’,” she started. “He’s bright, witty, funny and sexy. But no matter how much we wish we were birds of a feather – we’re still a duck and a goose.”
She then thanked the Daily Mail for the “slightly wacky paparazzi stunt” she used to confirm they were no longer together. She concluded her post by asking for confidentiality, not for herself, but for his own.

“As unfiltered as I usually am, it involves someone else’s privacy – so that’s all I’ll ever say on the subject,” Porizkova wrote.

The post about their breakup comes just months after their red carpet debut at the 93rd Academy Awards. Sorkin was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for his film “The Trial of the Chicago 7” but lost to “Promising Young Woman” scribe, Emerald Fennell.
She later revealed to the New York Times that, despite the lavish setting of the Oscars, their first public outing was only their second date.

Porizkova was once married to The Cars lead singer Ric Ocasek, who died on September 15, 2019 at the age of 75. The couple had announced their separation a year earlier, but could not finalize their divorce.
Ocasek was found dead in the New York home he shared with Porizkova. The rock singer has died of hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, according to a medical examiner’s statement.

Drama continued to follow after Ocasek’s death when news broke that the singer had cut Porizkova from his will, which is an issue still pending, The New York Times reported.

Since the death of her ex-husband, Porizkova has kept a relatively low profile when it comes to her love life, which was shattered by her brief love affair with Sorkin. This probably explains why she insisted on stressing that she was “so grateful for his presence” in her life.
