The Inter-Mountain photo by Edgar Kelley Dozens of Davis & Elkins College students demonstrate on the school campus Friday afternoon, calling attention to what they say are issues regarding treatment with the college of complaints alleging racism, security and sexual assault. Later Friday, D&E made the following statement to The Inter-Mountain: “The college supports the right of First Amendment students to protest peacefully. A concern about a social media issue was brought to the attention of the college administration. President Chris A. Wood sent a message to campus outlining the college’s commitment to fighting racism. The president’s initiative on diversity, equity and inclusion will host a campus forum on October 12 to provide a safe space to address hateful and demeaning speech and come up with practical strategies to challenge racist rhetoric.
