UNIVERSITY PARK – Penn State has corrected its slow start since the start of the season.

Now it will work on a stronger finish.

The Nittany Lions jumped on Ball State early, scored touchdowns on their first two possessions, led 24-6 at halftime and were in cruise control for the remainder of a glorious Saturday afternoon en route to a win. from 44-13 at Beaver Stadium.

Penn State, ranked No.11, is now 2-0 heading into Saturday night’s white game against Auburn. Ball State fell to 1-1.

Sean Clifford completed 21 of 29 for 230 yards and a touchdown. He also ran 11 times for 66 yards and one more score before substitute Ta’Quan Roberson entered with six minutes left and threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to tight end Theo Johnson.

Parker Washington was the top receiver with six catches for 57 yards.

Penn State’s defense, however, was not to be overshadowed. The Nits kept Ball State out of the end zone for the first three and a half quarters.

PSU only allowed two touchdowns in two games.

The crowd chanted, “We want Auburn” late in the game and booed when Ball State twice called the timeout in the last 10 seconds at Penn State 12 and then Lions’ 7, trying to score in their last two games.
