‘Peril!’ Star Ken Jennings under fire for resurfaced tweet

Ken Jennings is all the rage on social media for a past callous post, shortly after being named acting “Jeopardy!” host following the death of Alex Trebek earlier this month.

Monday, “Peril!” revealed the former champion is said to be the longtime guest host of the game show. In response to casting news, many on Twitter called a tweet from 2014 by Jennings who said, “Nothing sadder than a sexy person in a wheelchair.”

The post from Jennings, 46, was not deleted on Wednesday.

Actress Yvette Nicole Brown was among those who commented on Jennings’ casting, tweeting “No” alongside a “Jeopardy!” story. When we press why, she told a disciple, “Listen to his old tweets and come back to me.”

In 2018, Jennings addressed the controversial remark, posting: “I have never flogged in public for this, but I have personally apologized to the angry / hurt people who contacted personally.” it was such an inane joke it meant something very different in my head and I regret just reading able to read it!

“Peril!” is expected to resume production next Monday with Jennings.

Representatives of Sony Pictures Entertainment did not immediately return our request for comment.
