ANAHEIM, Calif. – Josh Perkins, Gonzaga's guard, said he would never forget his late technical foul in the 75-69 loss to Texas Tech in the Elite Eight on Saturday.
Gonzaga was down 71-69 with 11 seconds to play at the Honda Center when Perkins reached the bottom line and spread the ball from Red Raiders goaltender Matt Mooney, who was out of bounds while he was attempting a pass interior.
Perkins violated Article 9b of Rule 6 of the NCAA, Article 6, which states that "no opponent of the thrower shall have any part of his person on the inside of the line of demarcation" .
Davide Moretti made both free throws after a technical foul by Perkins.
Texas Tech retained possession of the ball and Red Raiders goaltender Jarrett Culver made his two free throws after a foul from Jeremy Jones, which extended Texas Tech's lead to 75-69.
