Pokemon GO Shiny Lotad's Match Rate Appears Weak – Rant to Play

Few months ago, Pokemon GO organized a special time-limited search event that allowed players to catch a brilliant Feebas. Now, Niantic is trying another time-limited search event, this time under Lotad's shining eyes, but the players seem to face the same problems.

Perhaps to resolve complaints about the limited-time Feebas search, the brilliant limited-time Lotad search runs from 11:00 am local time to 8:00 pm. Theoretically, this gives Pokemon GO Players have almost all day to catch a brilliant Lotad, though not everyone will be able – or will – literally spend the whole day playing the game.

Unfortunately, it seems that maybe that's what some Pokemon GO players will have to make sure they catch the bright Lotad. Some Reddit users have reported probabilities of catching a Lotad as shiny as 3/165. Others went 2/150 and 1/80. Shiny Castform, which is also part of this event, seems to be easier to catch than the brilliant Lotad, perhaps because players do not have to perform field research tasks to get there.

It is unfortunate that Lotad's brilliant resurgence rate seems weak, as he could again rub Pokemon GO fans in the wrong way. People burned by Feebas limited-time search who have yet decided to try time-limited Lotad search may decide that these events are no longer worth taking if the rate of encounter with the brilliant Pokemon is so low.

An easy solution seems to be for Niantic to increase the rate of reoccurrence of the brilliant Pokémon presented in these events.
