In the eternal fight between AMD and Nvidia in the graphics card segment, the Radeon company won a victory that everyone was not expecting. A battery of tests performed by third parties revealed that AMD pilots are more stable than Nvidia to perform tasks for a long time and a high demand.
This audit was conducted by QA Consultants at the request of AMD, and the configuration of the Microsoft Windows Hardware Lab. The Radeon cards for games that were tested were the Radeon Vega RX 64, RX 580 and RX 560 . While Nvidia participated with its models GTX 1080 Ti, GTX 1060, and GTX 1050. The workstation cards for the lines Radeon Pro WX and Nvidia Quadro were also tested
Between tests , sudden changes in resolution and orientation, energy saving cycles, and rendering tasks were performed for 24 hours. for 12 days without stoppage . The result is that the RX 580 and the RX 560 had only one accident, and the Vega 64 had two accidents.
The Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti is well behaved with only one accident. But the 1050 has been suspended three times. And the 1060 not only failed four times, but it was out of order for a whole day because of a serious failure.
In addition to these serious accidents, in total AMD cards failed 31 times while Nvidia failed 76 times, in a total of 432 tests , according to QA Consulting. We hope to see if another company confirms this trend, but it seems that AMD has done its job and improved its drivers, so criticized in previous years. You can see the details of the tests on this link.
