Chinese scientists at the Shenzhe University have genetically modified a couple of babies to make them resistant to the AIDS virus, according to the newspaper The country. The researchers reportedly used a technique called "gene editing" or "CRISPP" that mutates genes and makes them resistant to HIV. According to the Madrid newspaper, the research has not yet been contracted or published in a scientific journal. Both modified babies were healthy and the consequences of this manipulation on their DNA are unknown.
