The Office of the Ombudsman noted during an inspection of the nutrition department that food prepared at Tingo María Hospital in Huánuco was kept in unsanitary conditions.

In a statement, the institution explained finding rodent feces in closets, ceilings and open spaces, as well as roaches in the warehouse and outdated condiments.

"These conclusions are contrary to what is established in the sectoral technical standard governing the nutrition and dietetics service in health establishments and in which it is established that this service must have qualified human resources, such as: Infrastructure, equipment, materials and supplies needed to ensure the proper provision of catering service in operational and safety conditions, "said the Ombudsman's office in his statement.

The executive management of Tingo María Hospital has a period of 20 days to correct all comments made by the office of the mediator, to ensure the service to more than 100 users.
