Over the next twelve months, 6 out of 10 (59%) Peruvian business leaders (CEOs, CEOs, CEOs, and business owners) believe the economic situation will improve. while 1 in 3 (35%) think it will stay the same, and only 6% think it will get worse, according to the Vistage Trust Index of the third quarter of 2018.

During the analysis of the last 12 months, 60% of managers surveyed found that the economic conditions in the country remained the same, while 20% had improved and that, for the remaining 20%, she had deteriorated. This last indicator is the highest of the last surveys.

With these results, the Vistage business confidence index reached 112 points in the third quarter of the year, down 7 points from the second quarter.

According to Vistage, this decrease is mainly due to the increase in the number of entrepreneurs who find a deterioration of the economy during the last year. However, most of them see a future with very good economic conditions, hiring staff, increasing sales and profitability of their businesses.

"Local entrepreneurs identify a clear challenge for the future, linked to the definition of a sound business strategy," said Fernando Descotte, Vistage's general manager in Peru.

"In favorable macroeconomic contexts like the one that crosses our country, any company must aim to lay a solid foundation for sustainable growth," he said.

In terms of profitability, price and sales, CEOs believe that the future will be bright as 74% believe their sales will increase; 25% who will sell the same as today and only 1% think that their sales will decrease.

Capital investment and hiring

Regarding the prospects for fixed capital investment for the next 12 months, 57% of entrepreneurs believe that their assets will increase; 34% will keep them and 9% think they will decrease.

Regarding staffing decisions, half of the CEOs (49%) estimate that their staff will increase over the next 12 months, 37% will maintain their workforce equally and the remaining 14% believe that It will diminish. Of those who plan to hire staff, 3 out of 4 (76%) will do so in the first half of 2019.
