Petroperú: 8,000 barrels of oil were dumped for the sabotage of the Norperuano pipeline | Economy

Petroperú yesterday reported a break in the Norperuano pipelineat kilometer 193 of the northern branch, in Morona District, 500 meters from the community of Mayuriaga (Loreto).

The sabotage caused the spill of 8,000 barrels of oil, according to the pressure drop recorded since 23 hours. Yesterday, said Beatriz Alva, Director General of Social Management and Communications Petroperú.

The executive warned that the citizens of Mayuriaga did not allow the development of the emergency plan to end the oil spill.

"The villagers prevented us from putting in place a security system to prevent hydrocarbons from leaving the pipeline," he said in an interview with RPP.

He also pointed out that the community had already warned against sabotage, in protest against the National Elections Jury, for a local electoral conflict.

"It's a completely foreign affair, the crime is flagrant. Public minister who exercises the right and holds those responsible, "he said.
