Steam has finally launched its platform Steam Chat which represents a great improvement in the communication process of the players, and that they have been testing for several weeks. This replaces simple chats and the list of friends, and adds a series of features that will deepen the look of the community. It comes with the latest client update and will require a reboot of the platform.

The most remarkable thing is the new list of friends, who is now called Amigos y Chat . This list is able to group your contacts according to the game they play, and in the case of games like CS: GO, it warns you if you play with other people, and how many are in a party or group .

Remember that Steam already had Groups ? Before they were simply places where you could make messages on common themes. But now, they will be the basis of the new features of Steam Chat. Now you can join a discussion group of these instances, and create voice channels inside everyone, so you can talk with people you play with or just hang out.

You can also ] create your own groups and quickly call your Steam friends from the Friends & Chat tab. Within these groups, besides speaking by voice, you can write and send files, in the form of images and gifs, so that they are seen by all.

These characteristics of cat and communication recall Discord third-party service that has gained popularity in recent years. All indications are that Valve wants to recover lost ground and ensure that Steam users do not need to use other platforms for their communication needs.

Have you tried Steam Chat? What did you think? ?
