“I’m ready to hang up the jersey,” Pete said in May.
Earlier this year, you may recall how Pete Davidson made a splash when he said he was ready to quit his longtime gig at Saturday Night Live. “I’m ready to hang up the jersey,” he admitted to The Hollywood Reporter.
So you can probably imagine how surprising it was to see Pete at the Season 47 premiere this weekend, which featured Owen Wilson as the host and a musical performance by Kacey Musgraves.
Season 47, of course, brought a plethora of cast changes. For example, Beck Bennett and Lauren Holt are both absent.
Bowen Yang and Chloe Fineman have been promoted to repertoire players!
And there are three new faces: comedians Sara Sherman, James Austin Johnson, Aristotle Athari have all joined the cast as star players this season.
As for Pete, who recently starred in the semi-autobiographical The King of Staten Island, he is also playing the lead role in the upcoming Netflix biopic I slept with Joey Ramone.
Anyway it’s so so good to see Pete again SNL!
