The atomweight upset specialist is set to duke it out with former ONE Women’s Atomweight World Title challenger Mei Yamaguchi on the undercard of ONE: DESTINY OF CHAMPIONS on 7 December at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Torres, who is mostly remembered for her shocking wins over Thai heroine Rika Ishige and Team Lakay’s April Osenio, last saw action last September at ONE: CONQUEST OF HEROES in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Known by the moniker “The Zamboanginian Fighter,” Torres fell short in her last outing for the first time in her career when she went the distance against Priscilla Hertati Lumban Gaol, bowing down to the hometown favorite by unanimous decision.
Hungry to redeem herself from an underwhelming performance, Torres is raring to get back inside the cage against a grizzled veteran like Yamaguchi, who also looks to get back to her winning form after yielding to Angela Lee in an atomweight world title rematch this past May.
In the main event, Thailand’s Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex is set to lock horns against Luis Regis of Australia in a ONE Super Series Muay Thai bout.
Also on the undercard is former ONE Welterweight World Title challenger Agilan Thani, who will make his second cage appearance this year against Kiamrian Abbasov of Kyrgyzstan.
He will be joined by another local Gianni Subba, who is slated to battle Chinese grappler Ma Hao Bin in a three five-minute round contest.
