Coinbase Wallet users will now be able to send and receive Ethereum Classic.

In a blog post, Coinbase, a cryptocurrency exchange, said that support was extended not only to Ethereum Classic, but also to the more than 100,000 existing ERC20 chips in the Ethereum blockchain. Portfolio users will have to wait a few days before they can make transactions.

"Your Wallet app should be updated in the next few days, after which you will be able to view, send and receive ETC information about your wallet," Coinbase said in an online ad.

This comes three months after the cryptocurrency swap listed altcoin on its trading platform.

At the time, Coinbase had stated that this listing was a fulfillment of the promise to add more assets to its trading platform for its global customer base. Since listing Ethereum Classic, other cryptocurrencies added to the Coinbase trading platform include Basic Attention Token (BAT), which was quoted at the beginning of the month.

BAT and 0x

As CCN reported after registration, Coinbase has authorized BAT trading in most countries, with the exception of New York.

"Once the liquidity is sufficient, trading on the BAT / USDC order book will begin. […] BAT transactions will be available to users in most jurisdictions, but will not be available to New York residents in the first place, "Coinbase said at the time.

In the United States, cryptocurrency trading also revealed that BAT was not available on mobile apps and on Coinbase.com.

Another cryptocurrency recently listed by Coinbase is 0x and unlike BAT, the coin was immediately available on iOS and Android applications, as well as on Coinbase.com. But, as in the case of BAT, New York State was excluded from the list of permitted jurisdictions. In the UK, where Coinbase allowed deposits and withdrawals in pounds sterling in August, residents also missed the immediate availability of 0x.

"Starting today, Coinbase supports ZRX on Coinbase.com and in Android and iOS Coinbase applications. Coinbase customers can now buy, sell, send, receive or store ZRX … ", said Coinbase Vice President and General Manager of Coinbase Consumer, Dan Romero. "ZRX will be available to customers in most jurisdictions, but will not be available initially for residents of the United Kingdom or the state of New York."

Highly regulated

Based in the United States, Coinbase is highly regulated and listing a token on the stock exchange is considered an indication that the United States Securities and Exchange Commission does not consider this asset as a security. Cardano, Stellar and Zcash are other cryptographic assets that could soon appear on Coinbase.
