As SpaceX and Boeing continue their run in commercial space, Boeing posted this video showing a parachute test on his Starliner vehicle. It is expected that the crew will parachute into the Southwest after leaving the ISS aboard the Boeing Space Shuttle and be kept in good condition for reuse ten times.
We watched videos showing similar tests for the SpaceX Dragon capsule and even close-up images of the Starliner crashing on its airbags. The first unmanned test flight of the spacecraft has been postponed several times and is now scheduled for the month of August – although we hope to never see these features deployed, it is important to test them before anyone actually goes there.
