Inand Fornilos will try to pass from an internal force to a versatile wing for Ateneo.
Coach Tab Baldwin will have a promising new perspective that will become a vital cog for the Ateneo de Manila University.
Inand Fornilos, who has spent the last two years accumulating doubles for the Green Hills Room, will now make the pass for the Blue Eagles. "Pupunta na po akong Ateneo," he said.
Fornilos has been hailed as Defensive Player of the Year and has been named in two mythical teams in the NCAA 94 Juniors. In his last game against the Greenies, he averaged 12.4 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.1 assists.
Now he climbs into the college ranks, however, his 6-foot-2 frame will move him away from the painting.
That's where the magic touch of Baldwin, the UAAP Champion's two-time coach, will come in handy as he proved that he was able to develop complete players.
The best scenario for Fornilos would now be Ateneo captain Mike Nieto, who was a dominant domestic force in the Juniors before finishing his game as a high-powered run for the Seniors.
While this 19-year-old striker is undoubtedly a first-rate rookie, he is compared to that of his LSGH teammate, Joel Cagulangan, of the University of Sto. Mark Nonoy, unique sensation, or RJ Abarrientos, shooter from Far Eastern University-Diliman.
Nevertheless, Fornilos will be very well received by the two defending champions alongside the rough prospect of 6-foot-8 Geo Chiu, even though they remained virtually intact, replacing only Anton Asistio and Aaron Black.
