MANILA, Philippines – An electrical engine failure forced one of the trains heading north from Metro Line 3 (MRT-3) to stop and disembark its passengers on Wednesday morning.
The management of MRT-3 stated that the power failure was caused by worn subcomponents.
The northbound train stopped between Buendia and Guadalupe stations around 8 am.
At 8:17, the MRT-3 management announced that some passengers got off the train and chose to follow the lane to the train station.

The remaining passengers were unloaded at Guadalupe station at 8:28 am after the defective train took traction at 08:25.
Some 700 passengers were unloaded from the train, said MRT-3 management.
He added that the passengers had to board the next train, arrived eight minutes after the incident.
"We apologize for the inconvenience," said the management.
The management of MRT-3 announced that it would carry out preventive maintenance and replacement of the electrical components of the train as part of the corrective measures. (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
