CEBU – A former mayor of the city was shot dead by unidentified men in a private hospital in Medellin on Wednesday morning in Cebu, police said.
Police Master Sgt. Winston Esdane of the Medellin Police Station identified the victim as the former mayor of Medellin, Ricardo "Ricky" Ramirez.
Ramirez was found with gunshot wounds in the comfort room of his neighborhoods.
Police said heavily armed men stormed the private hospital and shot dead Ramirez. They also took the cell phones of the hospital staff.
Ramirez was arrested in July 2017 for illegal possession of firearms. He was in the hospital after suffering chest pains. – Report by Jude Torres, ABS-CBN News
