Subic Bay Metropolis Strengthens Security in the Freeport Zone After Famous Businessman Dominic Sytin, President and Founder of United Auctioneers, Was Killed by Unidentified Gunmen
ZAMBALES, Philippines – A prominent businessman based in Subic Bay Freeport was killed by two unidentified gunmen on Wednesday night, November 28.
The victim was identified as Dominic Sytin, president and founder of United Auctioneers, a company specializing in the import of used vehicles.
According to witnesses, Sytin was about to enter the Lighthouse Resort and Hotel with companions when the suspects approached and shot him in the head.
Sytin had died on the spot while an unidentified person had been injured during the attack.
The suspects ran away with the help of a motorcycle. The authorities are still investigating the motive of the murder.
The metropolis of Subic Bay (SBMA) has strongly condemned the incident.
"This is sad news for us, not just because an eminent businessman who has been a very active member of the Subic Freeport community is falling prey to violence, but also because A life was lost like that, "said SBMA President Wilma Eisma said in a statement.
"We urge the families of the victim and pray that the perpetrators of this heinous crime will be identified as soon as possible so that justice can be done," she added.
Eisma said the SBMA was working with the Philippine National Police and other investigative units.
"I ordered at 7:28 pm a freeport door lock as soon as I heard the sad news. I've also asked SBMA's SWMA team to strengthen door security and thoroughly examine every person and every vehicle before they exit, "she said. Rappler.com
