David Robinson and Kawhi Leonard both won the NBA championships as a member of the San Antonio Spurs.

But that may be the only thing they have in common.

In an interview Monday with ESPN, Robinson said that he had rarely had contact with Leonard, despite having reached out several times. [19659037] Robinson told Rachel Nichols of ESPN

The Hall of Fame Basketball speculated that Leonard's tendency to keep up for him may have tended his relationship with the team and contributed to the negotiation of Spurs. last week at the Toronto Raptors for teammate DeMar DeRozan

"I think that all the time he spent here (in San Antonio), I talked to him maybe a handful of times, and I Can I count on him? On the one hand, how many words did he really say, "Robinson said. "So he's just a quiet guy, and I think that made it difficult, I think, for all parties to really understand each other in this process."

Leonard, 2014 NBA MVP and two-time defensive player the year, suffered a leg injury in last year's playoffs that limited him to only nine games last season. He confronted Spurs officials during his rehabilitation and recovery process – and whether or not he was healthy enough to play.

When the Spurs made the playoffs this season, Leonard stayed in New York, where he was in rehab

"It's one of the most bizarre situations I've ever known since I'm in professional basketball "Robinson said.

Meanwhile, Leonard has remained generally quiet since trading. However, he posed for a photo with Masai Ujiri team chairman and general manager Bobby Webster
