If you get carried away by a Google Home speaker or a smart display following the Black Friday / Cyber Monday madness, you'll be happy to know that they'll soon have new features, some of which just arrive at time for the holidays.

The first feature, Pretty Please, already seems to be live. Announced at I / O 2018 in May, Pretty Please wishes to encourage everyone, adults and children, to have good manners when they talk to their speaker. It's easy to be rude with a faceless robotic voice. The goal is to not forget our good habits, even when you are talking to a virtual assistant. For the moment, it seems that the mere fact of adding "please" to your request will result in positive vibrations such as "What an elegant way to ask" or "I'd like to hear this magic word ". I do not have children, so I do not know if it is possible to specifically apply the word "please", otherwise their request will be refused, but let us know how it works for you.

Another addition to Google Assistant specific to smart screens is the support for lyrics. However, this will only work with Google Play Music and with "select songs", so you will not be able to take full advantage of it. Google indicates that the synchronized lyrics will appear on the screen while the music plays. You have nothing to do for the feature to display.

Also for smart screens, Google adds the ability to respond when you receive a ringtone at your Nest Hello door. A new blue "talk" button will appear on the screen and allow bidirectional communication with your visitors. You will also be able to quickly hide a photo that you no longer want to appear on your screen or share a photo with any of your contacts.

Google's ad message also includes a set of features already in progress or announced previously, such as Santa's call, reading children's stories, support for third-party list providers, including Google Keep (still not online), response to broadcasts, and a quick way to add alarms on smart screens.
