A mother whose adoptive son was exposed to alcohol in the womb talked about the long-term impact on their lives.

Judith Knox's son is suffering from Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).

This state left him with a range of behavioral problems.

Ms. Knox said: "I hope that he will be able to read the time, manage the money and stay safe and not end up in a bad situation."

She welcomed the launch of a new support service, FASD Hub Scotland, aimed at parents and caretakers of people with this disease.

FASD covers a range of adverse physical and emotional conditions that affect people whose mothers drank during pregnancy.
