Cignal HD’s sensational opposite spiker Mylene Paat is not taking any team lightly this season.

After making quick work of Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors in straight sets, 25-17, 25-11, 25-18, the lefty spiker said her team remains all business in the 2018 PSL All Filipino Conference.

Paat attributed their win to the team’s killer instinct, staying focused amid all adversities and making sure not to give their opponents an inch of hope to stay close.

She said complacency has no space in the team, citing previous matches where they became too laxed making way for too many errors.

“Naganun na rin kasi kami ng Foton, ng Generika, to the point na lumalamang kami tapos biglang matatalo kami ng isang set,” Paat said. “Yung naging focus namin is siguro wag nang pahabulin sila–kung kailangan durugin, durugin na ang kalaban.”

After a strong opening set, Cignal took advantage of their momentum and snatched the second set in dominant fashion.

The Lady Realtors tried to keep the game close in the start of the third set, but the HD Spikera proved too powerful as they pulled away midgame for the victory.

The game saw a stellar performance from the HD Spikers who outperformed the Lady Realtors in all scoring departments.

Mylene Paat led the charge for Cignal with 19 points including 14 attacks, four blocks and an ace, while team captain Rachel Ann Daquis added 11.

On the other hand, no player from Sta. Lucia finished in double digits, with Souzan Raslan and Jho Maraguinot leading the team with nine and six points respectively.

With the win, the HD Spikers improve their record to a 3-2 slate, while the Lady Realtors remain winless after four outings.

Cignal looks to score an upset against the Petron Blaze Spikers on Saturday, while Sta. Lucia seeks for their first win as they go up against the a deadly Generika-Ayala Lifesavers team next week.
