LeBron James will not participate in the USA Basketball minicamp in Las Vegas next week, several sources familiar with James' plans told ESPN

James, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, was in Las Vegas this weekend to watch his new team, the Los Angeles Lakers, play a summer league but he will not be present for the training camp that will be held from July 25 to 27 at the Mendenhall Center. UNLV

This will be the first official gathering of the United States with Gregg Popovich as head coach. James played for Larry Brown on the 2004 bronze medal team at the Athens Olympics, in which Popovich served as assistant. James did not play on the # USA Basketball 2016 team that won gold in Rio
