MANILA, Philippines – Lucas Matthysse, WBA welterweight champion, will spend the remainder of the fight week maintaining optimal weight for his clash with Manny Pacquiao at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Sunday.

Quintero, 31, holds a record of 30-8 (with 25 KOs) and is a southpaw like Pacquiao. He flew with Matthysse's lean entourage who arrived in the Southeast Asian nation last Thursday just in time for the acclimatization of the Argentine boxer. "Last Friday, he (Matthysse) finished with 10 explosive rounds with Marvin Quintero," said Gonzalez. According to sources, Matthysse will stay away from the media and will not speak to the media until the last press conference on Friday, leaving Gonzalez keeping reporters informed of the news. 19659004] "Matthysse will continue to work to maintain the weight," added Gonzalez.
