This year will be the fifth edition of The Game Awards and the goal is to make it bigger and better. The event organizers intend to do this by extending the reach of the show on several digital platforms, bringing the orchestra live and offering new ways of vote and interact. That's not all, though.

In a short promotional video published on Geoff Keighley's Twitter account, the one and only animator revealed that more new games than ever would be announced at the show. His tweet was a little more accurate, revealing more than a dozen games expected. Watch the full clip in the tweet below:

In September, Keighley posted a photo on his own Twitter account with Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aimé and celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck. Of course, since Reggie wore a shirt with the Metroid logo at the time, it fueled speculation. Metroid Prime 4 would be revealed at this year's Game Awards. The event is scheduled for December 6th.

In case you have missed it, be sure to check the full list of applications. Traveling Octopathus Nintendo is poised to win the award for best family game.
