MANILA, Philippines – The Pirates of the Lyceum of the University of the Philippines (LPU) have maintained their winning streak of the regular season alive – The Chiefs of Arellano University ( UA), 82-65, at the FilOil Flying V Center, Tuesday 24 July.

League MVP Perez dropped 31 career points with a range of 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 interceptions in the return win – their 22nd playoff victory dating back to their season opener 93. He scored 22 in the second half alone to reverse a potential breakout to a convincing victory over the Chiefs.

Arellano led by 16, 33-17, early in the first quarter, thanks to the warm hands of Mike Canete and Kraniel Villoria, who combined 17 points in the frame. However, they only managed 32 points in the next quarter, while the season 93 finalists swept their slow start.

Swingman veteran MJ Ayaay practically dominated Arellano in the resurrection of the LPU in the 7th quarter. Perez then took matters into his own hands from that time

Mike Nzeusseu doubled Perez with a double-double of 11 points in 15 points in his fourth win of the 94 season.

Canete is still in head for the Chiefs with 12 points and 8 rebounds. However, 10 of them came in the 1st frame. Adrian Alban added 11 scorers and 4 boards in their first defeat of the young season.
